For a few years now fashion has re-introduced the elegant and always up-to-date image of a man with an immaculately shaved face. There has also been a major comeback of wet shaving, which is less harsh on the skin than electric razors, according to dermatologists. Beware however: traditional shaving soaps and foams, with their alkaline reaction (between 9 and 11 pH) aggravate the mechanical friction of shaving and easily cause irritations with a sensation of tightness, dehydration and flaking (“de-epithelisation from shaving”). These are problems which obviously appear more frequently on skin which is tendentially dry and easily irritated.
