Santa Lucia

Santa Lucia, the beloved patron saint of so many Italian (and Swedish) towns, was the young Christian martyr who lived in Sicily in the fourth century.

Her name means light and she is known for her love and kindness. She is the patron saint of vision whose intercession saved the people of Syracuse from starvation and led to the creation of cuccia.
